Robin comes to this time in her life with both professional and personal experiences that blend her innate ability to teach, collaborate, share, and undoubtedly show up from a place of giving and helping others. On the career front, Robin provided a wide variety of skill development in the business management of the food and warehouse house trade classes with Colgate-Palmolive Company for over 30 years. In her most recent years, she’s embarked on her next chapter of life, retirement, and in this time, she’s opened the door to pursue the study of best practices through leading organizations in the field of Mental Health, Substance Use Disorder, and Trauma Restoration.
Robin has forty-four Certificate of Completion hours through the American Society of Addiction Medicine and Suncoast Behavioral Health on the current practices in the field of addiction and Trauma Resolution. Robin has also completed Family-based Family facilitator training through Nami and SOS Recovery Community. With this in mind, Robin’s mission is to end stigma and advocate for policy changes that support long-term recovery systems of care, to this end Robin received facilitator certification training through Addiction Policy Forum's enCompass (A comprehensive training on Navigating Addiction). Her RecoveryStrongCommunity.org platform is under development to meet this mission. She also has over six years of board service with the following organizations: MWVsupportsrecovery.org and sicd-fl.org. Based on Robin’s journey, she has created this space to offer a place of peace, a place to share, and a place to express with themes centered around life and recovery. She firmly believes that you can’t recover unless you know what you’re recovering from, that recovery is possible, and that many practices, especially writing—one of her favorites—, exist for everyone to learn further and discover more about themselves. |
I'm a writer!
Robin came to writing as a form of therapy through journaling classes. What she cherishes most about this practice is that it provides a platform to share unique stories and it is through storytelling, that our minds are opened to new perspectives. Robin’s participation in the Jan Fraser Inspired Life Series has been life-changing and it is her hope that her stories will lift you up and expand your view of the world.
